Behind the illustration: Who is Andrew Mashanov?
Posted by Joe Marcangelo onAndrew Mashanov is a Russian illustrator born in Moscow in 1989.
Andrew made his own way into illustration around 2006-2007 while at University and made his first steps into menswear illustration a couple of years later with a series of illustrations for long gone Moscow store Fott. After that he would get a commission by Gant that opened the door to a professional world of menswear illustration that led him to work with brands such as Barbour, Anderson & Sheppard, Embark Clothiers and Jeremy Kirkland's Blamo podcast.
Below is the illustration that Andrew did for us at Embark Clothiers
A quote from AM about the Embark Clothiers Illustration-
"An illustration embodying style essence of a new player in the cool style game Embark Clothiers - Just like a fine Jazz composition, it starts with humble notes promising to evolve into an impressive volume "
Andrew has always been interested in menswear and always draws clothing that he's interested in personally, or at least clothing that reflects his own aesthetic . As you can probably tell from his illustrations Andrew is interested in ivy and traditional American styles,as well as being influenced by British and American culture, films and music.
